Minolta Dimage Multi Film Scanner

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Imaging Resource Discussion : One Thread

When looking at the sample scans in the Imaging Resources test of the Minolta "Dimage Multi" film scanner--in spite of what the text says--the samples of 35mm images look much sharper than the 6x7 images. Given the much lower dpi for medium format this could be the case, but the review seems to say that 6x7 images are much sharper. What is the real story?

I'd like to buy a scanner for 35mm and medium format that produces results in 645 and 6x9 that are better than 35mm. Anyone have a suggestion?

Sorry, that probably needs clarification - The resolution is definitely lower at the film emulsion. Where we thought it was sharper was when you looked at equivalent subject areas, taking advantage of the larger format. The difference is subtle, not dramatic though...
