F.Y.I.,

Rick has the same problem we do with a certain troll.

He asked me for the ISP here so he can contact the ISP provider. He's had it too.

Diane "just shag me baby" hates my guts, and will do whatever she can to get "the group" to delete me on site. She failed once so I guess this was her second try.

I think it's safe to say that it's common knowledge that all ISPs have Terms of Service which (far as I know prohibit disruptive behavior. Because this IS such common knowledge, I think a standard complaint letter should go immediately to the appropriate ISP. It's kinda like the Israelis--not too many people mess with them because they know the penalty is swift and sure. I don't know this, but I suspect we have a reputation for being soft on trolls, hence they come and bother us.

Kick off the campaign by complaining about Andy Ray! Definitely deliberately disruptive.

Might be appropriate too to regularly swap troll info with the sysops you communicate with, warn them as soon as a new one shows up, send them copies of complaint letters.

Someone said on the forum today that they had asked people from other forums to post here but they had taken one look at the troll arguments and not come back. . .

What can I do? Would you like me to collect all Super Polly's posts from Der Boonkah for you, if you haven't already done so?

What we need is the title, date, the specific InsideTheWeb.com URL link and the number codes.

Then he can check his records.

Gotta run, will get back to this later.

Diane,

Can you go to the thread titled "Why the power will be fail in 2000" from Worried Utilitiy Worker (Mr. Pooles hoax thread), and let me know what IP address the original posting was made from? I'm tired of his crap and am going to take some action; I just need to know if the IP address on the Yourdon forum matches the IP address for the same message on the euy2k.com forum.

Best,

Rick

On or about June 9, 1999...

Sent ID Zap an e-mail I forgot to make a copy, but this is what I sent, from the bottom of one of their return messages:

What did the "someone" do?

Thanks.

They are consistently flamming, trolling, agitating, heckling, and occasionally using obscene comments.

So,

Do we have and rights?

Thank you.

Thanks for your message. We can understand that you are unhappy. At the moment, we do not have a policy statement on what people should and should not do. We will need to think about this carefully. We will probably put up some policy guideline. However, we do not see ourselves in the censoring business.

Thanks.

There is a link to the policy page from our home page. Thanks for your suggestions.

Rick,

If you haven't seen this thread, you should. The attempted actions of this jerk may not only effect TimeBomb 2000, but anyone with a greenspun forum!
