Anyone used CanoScan FS 2710 Slide/Film Scanner?

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Camera Equipment : One Thread

I'm looking for a Film/Slide scanner. I have read reviews of the Nikon, Minolta and Hp scanners. I have not been able to find any info on the CanonScan FS2710. There is nothing on Canon's Web Site. Is it 36 bit? The price at Cameraworld is $699. This seems pretty low for a 36 bit scanner. Any information would be appreciated.

I haven't used it, but according to this ad, it is, indeed, 36-bit.

BTW, pricewatch.com shows it listed for $629 at another dealer...

David been reading lots of reviews and all seem positive with exception of one mildly malcontent. B & H Photo lists it for 499 and I've had real good results with them for several years. This looks like the best one I can find to use to convert a large, old, fading slide collection to CD. Some of these slides are almost 40 years old. Good Luck Cliff
