Status of selected games

greenspun.com : LUSENET : MAME Action Replay : One Thread

Since the tournament page has been modified to accomodate the upcoming battle, I would like to know where to find the updates for game selections. It would give us an idea as to which games we can anticipate playing as well as how many games we've finally decided on.

The link called "Gameboy's Page" gives you the current status. It's the same page as before. I will update it with Zwaxy's votes as soon as class finishes in a few hours... ugh...

The one's in green give you the games that would pass... the ones in orange will not go... at the moment

Do the late votes count or not??? I have a friend that would like to vote if we are letting late votes count... Just want to know which way we are going.

As it's not yet 23:59 GMT 30/06/1999 then a vote placed now cannot possibly be considered late. Late in the time-frame allowed for votes maybe but still perfectly legal as far as the original voting rules are concerned.

I think that probably what will need to happen is asap after the final game count comes in we will need to review the situation and see if we still have too few a number of games with 3 or more votes requiring a revote on the tied 2 point games to get up to a minimum (?) of 10 games.

In the interim, we will all undoubtably be able to start recording for the games that already have 3 or more votes as they will definitely be in the final 10 or so games..

I told Chris this... late votes will probably not count... I might count it if we have a tie in tiebreaker vote... I might use the quickest vote gets the game bit... it's probably a final minute decision.

I know this much - if we do another tourney next year - the original voting rules will probably not stand. Way too many ties.

Now hold on a minute. We seem to be putting the cart before the horse here. If I remember correctly, voting is open until June 30. As impractical as it might seem to some, we should not be doing any tie- breaker voting until all of the original votes are in. Yes, this might take a few days before a conclusion is reached. But, remember, this is a 3-month tournament. I don't think we're going to fall apart in the meantime.

In other words, I agree with the BJ man.

I'm wondering why there aren't more votes from the great group of players here at MARP...are they waiting for the final moment? If that's the case, then we are being premature on assuming which games are in and which are not.

Let's be patient and deal with ties if and when the time comes up.

OK... we have nine games that have three votes now... so I'm not going decide the tiebreaker vote until July 3rd 2359 GMT... due to popular vote. The original voting date stands however. The overall ending tournament date will now end October 3rd, not September 30th... still 2359 GMT... without objection :)
