(OT or is it) Sickness surrounds nations nuclear weapons compleses

greenspun.com : LUSENET : TimeBomb 2000 (Y2000) : One Thread

Mysterious health problems that docotrs cannot explain are afflicting people working at and living near nuclear weapons plants and research facilities.

This comes from the Nashville Tennessean. This is an ongoing report concerning an illness and the governments accountability to the people. It appears they are not telling the truth in some cases.

Reminds me of a Dennis Miller Live episode when he was talking about the tobacco lawsuits. Millions of people wanting to get compensated for getting lung cancer after 10, 20, 30, and 40+ years of smoking cigarettes and cigars...to wit, Dennis Miller replied...

"Whadya expect? It's fucking smoke! You don't stick your head into a campfire every ten minutes and inhale do you?"

Well I think there is some comparison to the Nuclear Energy Industry. I think they knew all long that there was a risk for health problems but they figured it would be years if not decades before any evidence would show up and by that time they would have already collected billions of dollars in profits.

"I mean come on, it's fucking radiation! Whadya expect?"
