Lens conversions for graflex rb super d 4x5

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Large format photography : One Thread

I have recently purchase a 4x5 Graflex Rb super D camera with a 190mm lens.I have other field views but it is so nice to see the image right side up on a 4x5 after all these years that I'm in heven. How could somthing so old be so good? I want to use this camera for landscapes & simi close work.My only disapointment is that you lose shutter speeds from 1/15 to 1 sec. because of the focal plane shutter system.I find that for most of my work these shutter speeds are very usful to me. questions 1- can this lens be put into a modern shutter? 2- Who does this kind of work? 3-are there modern lens that can fit into this camera without interfearing with the mirror? 4- What other lens were made to fit this camera and where can I find them? from the info. that i have read from graphic org. the camera has interchangeable lens. any body doing work with this camera the way I would like to? Any comments ,advice ,and most of all your help would be greatly appreciated thanks richard
