Homemade ring for shutterspeed dial

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Pentax 67 SLR : One Thread

What to do when the knurled ring for your P67 shutterspeed dial, which should come with the TTL prism, is missing when you buy the camera or gets lost afterwards? As it is a pain to set the shutter speeds without this ring when the TTL prism is installed (hard to get a grip on the dial),I made one out of a lid of a 35mm film container (a Kodak lid had just the right inner dimension); all you have to do is cut a hole in the middle. As a finishing touch,I added a black rubber band on the outside to get a better grip. The result looks good and works just as well as the original.
