hello,

what do you think is the best program for converting avi-video-files to mpg-files (vcd-compatible)?

if i use xing, then easy-cd creator put the mpg-file in the segment directory, instead of the mpegav-dir.

someone has an idea ?

I use a program called 'DVMPEG'. There's a trial version available on the internet. I don't remember the URL, but it can be found with any of the popular search engines using DVMPEG as your search word. It's a timely process though. You definitely have to be patient.

The best AVI to mpeg encoder is Heuris MPEG Professional. Provides much better quality MPEG than DVMPEG. Here is I believe a list of avi to mpeg encoders ranging from worst to best:

1. Xing 2. DVMPEG 3. LSX MPEG 4. MegaPEG 5. Panasonic MPEG 6. Heuris MPEG

Those are just my opinions, as I have worked (and have) all of these encoders. Please, no emails asking me where to find these or if I can send them to you.
