RIP software

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Imaging Resource Discussion : One Thread

I am looking for a RIP sotware that can convert ps and eps files to raster files, like RTL and TIFF.

Can someone help?

Thanks.

Sorry for the horribly slow response on your question, I'm still digging out from a recent vacation! - Birmy makes commercial PS RIPs that work with a wide variety of printers (www.birmy.com), but I don't know if they have a file output option. The generic solution is the open-source GhostScript interpreter. I don't know where you find it, but a search on any of the search engines for "GhostScript" should turn up lots of hits. An excellent resource for Postscript information of all sorts is Don Lancaster's site, at www.tina
