Let's all let Pamie know that we love her and will still be here when she gets her voice and internet service back.

Oh, gosh.

It's interesting that Maggie brought this up, because it is a bit of a worry of mine. After all this birthday week hype I just sort of disappear for a few days, that can really drop a readership. I know, because I do the same thing.

Just know that I'm thinking about you guys, and I can't wait to start making regular entries again.

(and to make sure you guys aren't too worried, I'm not terribly sick, I just can't talk, and since my voice is so tired, it makes me tired. That and all of the charades I have to do whenever I try to say something.)

Pamie, though this will be one of the hardest weeks of our lives, we will think of you often, quite possibly while wandering through the supermarket or buying coffee. These thoughts will make us giggle, as we fondly remember those inner dialogues you're so good at, and the people around us will widen their eyes ever so slightly and pretend to suddenly need to look at that newspaper in the rack outside, the better to slip away unnoticed.

We will laugh with delight at the memory of your Tae-Bo misadventures, at which point the store manager/checkout girl/person in the next cubicle will helpfully point one of Dallas' finest in our direction. As he beats us senseless, we will cackle with glee at what you might write about just such a situation.

I think Kent made it pretty obvious how we all feel - maybe we all do feel so dramatic, but pretty damn close. Get better soon Pamie. It's better to take time off now and rest then to end up really sick and in the hospital and not writing for a month!

big typo - that was supposed to be "don't" not "do".

when i had just started reading webjournals, ms. xeney was closing up shop for the next-to-last time. a lot of the stuff she wrote about not owing the audience seemed like common sense. and she referred to folks who seemed to think that cuz she felt like posting stuff she had signed some kind of "entertain me" contract. that seemed really weird, that readers could be possessive that way. now having come to know and love pamie's page (though not pamie) (although i'm sure i would love her if i knew her), i understand the feeling of "omigod where is my dose of humor and pathos?" but that's mostly because my job is really boring.

Pamie: take all the time you need, and fuck guilt.

love ya

Poor Pamie. Get well soon, we will all be looking forward to your return!

I will miss Pamie, but for heaven's sake, I would never ask someone to continue to journal for my benefit at her expense. We love you Pamie! Get well soon!

I'm so upset that Pamie is sick. See, over the weekend my puppy died and I was thinking that at least come Monday I would have a fresh new entry from Pamie to cheer me up. But none came, and I just cried all day. And then today I had a momentary rush of euphoria when I saw that there was an update but my spirits were again crushed when I found it was just an announcement that Pamie would be taking some time off. Poor Floppy, I didn't know he was warming himself on the engine when I started the car. What a mess. All I can do now is cry and cry until Pamie gets back to brighten my day. Hurry Pamie, hurry! Get better soon. I can't take too much more of this crying. Godspeed!

don't worry Pamie - I'm not going anywhere. I understand about having to take time off. it sucks to lose your voice :( feel better soon! have you tried those zinc lozenge thingies? those worked really well for my lost voice last fall.

I still suspect some sort of conspiracy here. Note that Pamie's "illness" occurred right after Eric's birthday, for which she had a mysterious surprise planned.

And did anyone else notice that "Eric" is the name of the prince in the Disney version of "The Little Mermaid" ... and Pamie has lost her voice this week? Hmmmmmm.

I bet if we investigated we could find a link between this "Monks Night Out" group and the Freemasons. Or maybe FEMA's involved and Pamie is really carrying an alien virus. And this all happens shortly after Oliver Stone is arrested... so he can't do an expose. How convenient.

Feel better soon Pamie. I know how it feels to lose your voice (I used to a lot - allergies that have thankfully gone away), and I understand the need to take the time off. I definitely won't be going anywhere, in fact, I'll be anxiously checking every day to see if its the day you feel better.

Feel better pamie! I'll be reading the new forum posts every day, so I won't be going anywhere!

Good point Jette! Very good observation. I think there's something going on too. haha

Big Joe - sorry about your puppy. Everything that happens in life happens for a reason. Hang in there.
