Sunday, 01999 July 25th was the day that the box office totals were even (by matching day of week/days in release, "The Phantom Menace" with a two-day headstart). "Titanic" has now pulled ahead.

"The Phantom Menace" opened very strong, but experienced a relatively fast drop after the first few weeks. Judging from the graphs, it should end up around the $440 million mark at the end of the summer.
