VCD freezes at 59 second mark on laptop

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Video CD : One Thread

I bought a bunch of VCDs from Hong Kong and tried to play them on my IBM Thinkpad in the MS Media Player. It was going very well until it hit the 59 second mark then the image froze and everything stopped. I called IBM numerous times and they didn't have a clue. Please help!

Buy a copy of PowerDVD for $45.00. It does not need a DVD dvrive to play back VCDs and it is a great program. Microsoft never supported Video CDs nor will it ever(I know Media Player can play them but not very well).
