197 days... tick, tick, tick...

Is there a "streamlined" ( least hassles ) route thru FOIA ( Freedom Of Information Act ) to get at Y2K information disclosure from ( ANY/ALL! ) Public/Gov't Utilities ( i.e., public universities [ e.g., University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, Michigan ) operating power utilities )? This may be the only viable means to get _some truth_ at this late date...

Perhaps someone familiar with FOIA procedures and red tape could post the most expedient way to obtain this information?

I perceive FOIA as the only viable methodology for obtaining "snap shot" information re Y2K from publicly owned enterprises and circumventing contractual non-disclosure issues involving private consulting firms doing work for the public sector!

Any thoughts?... Thinking out loud here.

TIA for your indulgence!

Bob, to the best of my knowledge, FOIA requests are only applicable to government. Won't work for private industry (including publicly held utility companies). Also, you could grow old and die before an FOIA is processed - for the NRC, there is a specific link on their website for FOIA requests (www.nrc.gov; go to the main index).
