These "ad's" have neve been inserted before. Never been included before. Is Phil selling ad space now? Okay by me if he is, but if he isn't inserting them, who is?

Nothing like that shows up when I open the Top Level there, URL:http://www.greenspun.com/bboard/q-and-a.tcl?topic=TimeBomb%202000%20(Y2000)
It looks just the same from where I sit.
Maybe that trick is fallout from the "embedded" thingie in one of the posts yeaterday???? Or something else??
Rick Cowles seems able to manage these same problems on his "Electric Utilities and Y2K" forum, without requiring passwords or true ID's.

Robert,If you're talking about what appears at the top right of the browser then I'm seeing them too. Sometimes they are ads, other times they are just silly little animated gifs i.e. "Bill Gates Personal Wealth Clock/Bag of money".
I clicked on the gif and was taken to a page at:
http://www.webho.com/WealthClock
with a specific byline of "by Philip Greenspun"
so, guess he's doing it : )
