I'm trying to find out what kind of mini DV (or anything that will play them) that has component video out, and possibly the ability to stretch out 16:9 to a letterboxed image. I'm not really interested in purchasing, only in renting. Thanks so much.

Sony has a new DVCam deck(accepts mini DV too) that has componenet out. It's called the dsr40.
