MARP Tournament - Time to pick your games!

greenspun.com : LUSENET : MAME Action Replay : One Thread

As promised, I'll bring in the opening vote. Remember, voting ends June 31st, 23:59 GMT, 7:59PM Eastern.

1. F1 Dream - ORIGINAL ROMS - Mame 35 rc 1 - No TG Settings, I can judge this one.

2. Do Run Run - Mame 34 - I can judge this

3. Kick Rider - Mame 34

4. Gradius - Mame 35 rc 1 - No TG Settings - I can judge this

5. Gyruss - Mame 34

Well I've had my say on the rules on the Unofficial rules thread - except that I'm thinking 10 games, but I can't think of which scoring method to use, they're all good methods to use!

I hope I followed the rules right - if I didn't - shame on me! :(

I'm looking forward to all of your votes :)

Answers

1. Super Punch Out! - 35 rc 1 - no TG settings listed, going to ask - I can judge this.

2. Donkey Kong 3 - 34 - TG settings are ... well ... wrong. 1 extra life only, instead of every X points on defaults. I think Steve Krogman has mentioned this before.

3. Omega Race - 34 - TG settings

4. Mr. Do's Wild Ride - 34 - no TG settings, I think

5. War Of The Worlds - 35 rc 1 - no TG settings

From an ICQ Chat with Aquatarkus, I will assume that the first thing you list will be your two vote game, unless you indicate such. I've recieved two votes(plus myself: three), one came from email, thanks a lot, and keep em' coming! :)

Time for the JoustGod picks...here goes! (6-16-99, 19:01 PDT)

5. River Patrol

I guess it's time to throw my hat in the ring:

1) Wonderboy 2) Gyruss 3) Juno First 4) F1 Dream 5) Galaxian - well maybe someone else will want to play it as well.

I was tempted to put in Galaga instead of Galaxian but that would have been to much of an advantage to the Krogmiester and myself and I avoided the urge to add Bomb Jack as that would have been way too unfair. ;-)

That's right BeeJay - your number 1 picks did count as two votes - they will count two votes in this update as well.

This is in order of precedence, game(number of votes, number of double votes)

F1 Dream(3,1), Gyruss(3,0), Combat School(2,1), Pacman-Fast(2,0), Super Punch-Out(2,1), Tempest(2,1), Wonderboy(2,1), Do Run Run(1,0 for the rest of the thread), Kick Rider, Gradius, City Connection, Klax, Donkey Kong 3, Omega Race, Do's Wild Ride, War of the Worlds, Cheyenne, Eyes, River Patrol, Juno First, Galaxian.

Gradius is the cut-off point - However - Chris made a point to have a sudden death vote-off - might be a good idea - we'll have to see what votes people come up with...

I'm also considering just fluctuating the number of games played a bit so everyone who voted for the tie is happy that way...

Thanks for the suggestions and the game votes :) BTW... you're allowed to change your vote - but I think it should go to the `end of the line`(I sound like an elementary school teacher... hehehe)

1. Crystal Castles (tg=default) 2. Circus Charlie (tg?) - I'm sure Neil Chapman wants this one 3. Puzzle de Pon (or Puzzle de Pon R) 4. Missile Command (tg) 5. Puzzled/Joy Joy Kid

I'm currently #1 on all of these including the clones. ("oh, that's why dude voted on all these?!")

BeeJay, I'm really anxious in seeing what these other really good players can do on Galaga, so I had to vote on it! :)

1) Galaga (turbo-fire) TG "tournement setting" which is all the same settings (3 men to start, 1st free man at 30K, 70k, and every 70k thereafter, and a difficulty setting of "D" to allow the game to continue after stage 256) but difficulty set to "C" instead of "D" to ALLOW an ending by a kill-screen.

2) Ms Pacman (turbo)

3) Tetris

4) Donkey Kong

5) Pang 3! (Panic Mode)

Regards, Steve Krogman

Oh all right then......

Gameboy, so long as it won't affect the priority order of my other picks.... you can take Galaxian off my list and put Galaga Turbo Fire in instead. It would be kind of nice to play a bit of Galaga again!! ;-)
