Digital camera for electrophoresis

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Imaging Resource Discussion : One Thread

Usually the polaroid cameras/films are used to archive the electrophoresis results in UV backlight (special UV filters are used to get rid of the UV-bulb/tube images). In recent years, the video systems become available. Unfortunately, the resolution and sensitivity of these systems are much lower.

My question is: are there any suitable digital cameras available for this purpose? Desired image size could be 1600x1200 pixels. The main problem of available digital cameras is probably too short exposure time? Has anyone experience in this field?
