Can Camera be repaired if batteries leaked and got on the flap that closes over the battery compartment? I cleaned it off, but can't get the camera to work. Do I send it to the Casio Co, or take it to a local camera shop?

Yes they canbe fixxed. Use coke on everything. it will neutralize and eat the battery acid right off it. :)
