greenspun.com : LUSENET : Electric Utilities and Y2K : One Thread

This is in response to queries I've received about a recently deleted posting.

Bob Mangus' post was very topical to the discussion of Y2k. I don't, for a moment, dispute that. And I provided a link to one location for the same post (it was crossposted in several different forums). Here it is again:

The posting wasn't centered on or peripherally related to the perception of disclosure issues within the electric industry. Had it been, it would have remained. At the time that the thread was removed, I let Bob know that if he wished to recast the posting in terms of impact to the electric industry, it would stick.

I know quite well that this explanation isn't going to make everyone happy, but it's no different than quite a few other messages that have been removed. I think I've probably offended most of the regulars at one time or another by doing the same to them.

To reiterate: if you make a post that's specifically relevant to the electric industry and Y2k, it stays. Generic Y2k issues do not. There are other forums more appropriate for discussing generic Y2k issues.
