I went to Menards this weekend in Iowa City. I saw about 25 bright yellow little signs on things such as batteries saying "Prepare today for Y2K." Has this been seen at Menards anywhere else? This is good I think even if it is only an example of hegemony (co-opting "popular" themes and public sentiment as a marketing strategy) Whatever, I bought a few more batteries. We had gone there to get steel doors for our house. Just a folksy anecdote for your reading pleasure.
