3D camera developing

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Camera Equipment : One Thread

I have a 3D image technology camera that I puchased. It is not a disposable camera. I sent the film out to be developed, but it was never returned. I found out that 3D tech had closed it's doors. I have tried everywhere around here, but NO ONE knows where to get it developed. Anyone with any advice would be great!!!

Recent Shutterbug magazines have mentioned a couple of places in Georgia, US that does this. It's mentioned in the question and answer column.

Sorry, but I no longer have the issues so I can't directly point you to the exact source. They are on the web though.

Good luck.

Terri,

I've seen a few questions regarding 3D processing with the Nimslo 4 lens type cameras which were designed to produce a linticular 3D type print. I have a Nimslo, but never had such prints made. there is another fun way to do this, cheaper, and to my mind more 3Dish.

I don't know what lens system your camera uses, but if it produces 4 images of the same subject on the negative, it is very simple to go into a lab and ask that they print two sid-by-side images on one single 4X6...they fit perfectly. This will give you two 4X6 prints with all 4 images produced. You then need to cut out the two end images, and mount them to a 31/2 X 7 card. This is produce an "old faschioned" stereo card. Go to an antique shop and look around for an old stereo viewer, or, mail order to get one from Reel 3D company...they are on the interned (use your search engine for "Reel 3D"...they have many viewers and a nice "antique" viewer kit for about $35. When you make your cards you need to be sure you get the right image on the right side and the left on the left side, and you must use the extreme end right and left photos to get the full effect. Using this method, the 3D effect is quite dramatic...much more so than the linticular pictures these cameras were intended to make. If you want to ask some question, e-mail at fredrick@hotcity.com

Checkout www.orasee.com and goto the "Processing" link. There is a .pdf order form you can download for ordering 3D prints. They will accept 3D trio film. Good luck.
