digital camcorder noise

Help! I just bought a JVC DVM5U (mini DV). During recording I seem to pick up the sound of the camera! How do I get rid of it? Or do I have a defective camcorder?

I do have the Canon mini DV XL-1 Digital Camcorder, and I have never had the problem you have stated in your question. I also have had the opportunity to use at least 3 different models from Canon, and 1 model from Sony, and still did not experience that. Logical guess is you have a faulty unit, it could be the motor itself (Mechanical (I.E. Bearing) or Electrical (I.E. motor Winding)), and if that's the case the motor eventually will stop working. I would contact the JVC Technical support or Authorized service center, if it is a new purchase, you might be able to have it replaced at no cost to you. Good Luck.
