Where Are We Going With All The Potential Forum Projects?

greenspun.com : LUSENET : TimeBomb 2000 (Y2000) Forum Moderators : One Thread

Sent out an e and posting here.

I'm kind'a leaning towards tabeling the idea to expand the Moderators area for now, just because, we're still trying to sort out what all the options are.

One person just "e'd" me on the public "e" asking... "Have you seen anything or know of any site dealing with individual states preparedness? I have, but have forgotten where."

And that gets me thinking...

What's important over the next six months? Everyone's state & local readiness news? And prep advice? And the general forum free--for-all? And...and...

Then there's Russ's comment... "I thought Chuck's suggestion of a TB2K and TB2KPREP forum (both open) was a good one. Perhaps that is enough churning for the next month or two, then re-open the question of SIG-style forums (and, perhaps, the chat format may meet some of that)?"

Do we want the following...

1) Time Bomb 2000 Forum (Yourdon Classic)

2) Brian's Preparation Archives, see...

Year 2000 Preparation Archive

http://www.greenspun.com/bboard/q-and-a.tcl?topic=Year%202000%20Preparation%20Archive

3) Either a Prep Specific Open Forum and/or combined with State-by-state-categories? See, for example...

Year 2000 Community Prep Directory

http://www.greenspun.com/bboard/q-and-a.tcl?topic=Year%202000%20Community%20Prep%20Directory

4) BigDog Russ's real-time Chat sessions

5) The Private Time Bomb 2000 Moderators Forum... which could be expanded to include all the activity organizers and key regulars? Or not?

6) A "Time Bomb 2000 & Beyond" Web-site gateway with Y2K links to Ed's article archives, a place for the search engines to point to, a place where other Y2K web-sites could point to, etc,?

More??? Less?

Whew!

Additional ideas and comments?
