Stage 1:

"We expect to have all systems fully Y2K compliant by December 31st, leaving an entire year for testing..."

Stage 2:

"We expect to have all 'mission critical' systems fully Y2K compliant by December 31st, leaving an entire year for testing..."

Stage 3:

"We expect to have all 'mission critical' systems Y2K READY by December 31st, leaving an entire year for testing..."

Stage 4:

"We expect to have all 'mission critical' systems Y2K READY by March 31st, leaving most of 1999 for testing... However, we are developing business continuity plans to assure our customers that our services will still be available..."

Stage 5:

"We expect to have all 'mission critical systems' Y2K READY by June 30th, 1999, leaving six full months for testing... (same second half as above)"

Stage 6:

"We expect to have MOST 'mission critical' systems Y2K READY by June 30th, 1999, leaving six full months for testing... (same second half as above)"

Stage 7: (projected on my part)

"We expect to have MOST 'mission critical' systems Y2K ready by September 30th, well before the December 31st 'deadline'..." (notice no more text on "testing time")

Stage 8 - corporate: (also projected)

"We've filed for protection under Chapter 7 bankruptcy laws. See ya."

Stage 8 - government: (also projected)

"We've activated the National Guard and Army Reserve units, who will take their places in and around major cities. Food and water will be distributed at the following locations... You are directed to the following public shelters... (we 'expect' you to be there)"
