I finally figured it out. You should also have vcdgear.exe I believe that dat2mpg.exe is an option. Well at least I couldn't figure it out without vcdgear (didn't try to hard though) If you need a copy of vcdgear.exe, email me at cabusi@ite.net You aslo need to run this from the DOS prompt, eeewwwww!!! Here is a sample line I used, starting in the vcdgear directory of course.

vcdgear -dat2mpeg f:\mpegav\avseq01.dat f:\temp\test.mpg

and it made an mpeg of the dat file in my temp folder. But if you are trying to make a VCD with EZ CD Deluxe 3.5, then u aren't done. If you want to make a VCD using the mpeg file, you need to encode the mpeg file into a VCD mpg (NTSC) file using Xing Encoder. That is the only way I could make the right format that CD Creator will accept. Good Luck, Mike

NO! PLUTTH! #*&(@#& )@Q#*&$)(#* GRRRR!

I WORKED FOR OVER 12 HOURS on this! And I got all the stuff... DAT2MPG is in a different language though but I figure I can't be picky seeing how it only appeared on one FTP site and the webpage I got most of my answers from wanted a password to download that ONE little program!

I CAN'T GET THIS TO WORK! First it came to me as an RAR file... I was excited! Then I unrared it and it was a .bin and .cue file! So I had to take a crash course on CDRWIN and learned how to use it... HOWEVER it wanted to make .cda tracks on my CDs sooo... I edited the .cue file but the only way to get it to consider recording was to point to the .bin files location... I figured this .bin stuff bites... So I then took a crash course on how to extract the stuff from the .bin file... And thru many different software I learned of winimage that does the trick right... Even if the option isn't in it's menu the ALL FILES and the .bin actually works... THANK GOD! Am I home free? NOT! I burned the structure onto CD and every differnt player I use, a Sony one, Power DVD, Soft DVD, X-ing Player, and I tried EVERYTHING ELSE! They all gave me a reception soooo bad it wasn't even able to be understood... The locked out cable channels gave better reception... SOOOOOO naturally I'm not a quiter... I take a crash course on converting this .dat file into a .mpg file... And THIS my friends is ALL I can find off the net...

AND IT DOESN'T WORK FOR ME!!! WAAAAHHHHHH! I'm AT MY ENDS! I'm TOTALLY AT MY ENDS! PLEASE! HELP ME! I JUST WANT TO WATCH THIS BLASTED MOVIE!!!

For anyone still looking for this program you'll find it here. http://www.vcdguide.com/pages/tools/dat2mpg.zip

To use it, you'll have to go into DOS. After that it's quite simple. type in the following:

DAT2MPG d:\mpegav\avseq01.dat c:\temp\avseq01.mpg

This assumes that D: is your CD Rom and C: is your only hard disc.

Depending on the size of the file and speed of your CD rom it should take anywhere from 5-10 minutes.

Once complete, you should have a usable Mpeg file.

hope this helps.
