I was looking at some sites Diane listed in an earlier thread and came across an article under Noah's Ark, Emergency Preparedness Section. It appears to be NRC proposed revision (Press release April 23 1999) of possible use and stockpiling of potassium iodide for use in case of severe nuclear power plant accident. Just coincidence???? What do you think?? Just thinking and wondering...Thanks

This has been proposed several times over the past 35 years (that I can rememnber)...and rejected each time. Follow the story...if they actually stockpile, perhaps we have more of a problem than we thought!

Local paper here in central PA ran a story last weekend about distributing Potassium Iodide to all homes within a certain radius of our nuclear plants as a part of their "normal" disaster preparedness planning (remember TMI?). Sounds like they are giving it serious consideration. They mentioned they would have to re-distribute a fresh supply every 3 years.

I just recieved my Potassium Iodide in the mail without doctors appointment. Generally, you have to be prescribed it. It is cheaper if you get prescribed in large quantities, however, appointment may not make it cheap in small quantities. Used for nuclear reactors and War. I recieved it by mail, not UPS, so give your mailing address and if you only have a P.O.Box without Mailbox at physical address, give P.O.Box. Add 4 dollars to the total, consisting of 10$ increments. So the total cost will be 14,24,34,44,54,64,74,84,94,104 $ etc Disclaimer: I have zero ties with these people
