Another Question: About the "Publisher" Link

greenspun.com : LUSENET : TimeBomb 2000 (Y2000) Forum Moderators : One Thread

Notice under "Publisher" it links directly to a web-site.

I've just linked to my "test" of a free 6MB site offered by my ISP.

What I'd REALLY like to see is a simple Y2K site where we can link to Y2K info, in preparation for Ed's taking down his links in a month's time, and were we can list the kind of meta-tags (??) about the Time Bomb 2000 Forum so the serch engines can pick up the lead and "newbies" can find us.

How do we do that?

We might also consider who we know with a running site as the gateway. It is really dificult to hand someone the greenspun fully qualified address.

I think that a site has to be totally neutral that we link to. What about American Red Cross or even better if FEMA gets a good site up to direct folk to them

Another thought would be to look at a "sponsor" like the Cassandra Project. Teaming up with an existing org might be a plus - plus.

Or make up a site with as many community action groups as we can get on it. Then folks can choose the one that suits them for more local - specific information.

If one did that then we could make up Y2K banners for the community action groups to put on their web sites that links to the forum.

Or just link it to the Prep Archive cause we are all the publishers.

Boy. P.R.

I can't cope this week.

Cassandra, et. al. is a good idea. Critt said something about putting together a page too.

How do we link a site at the top level?

Near as I can tell, we're stuck with...

...and that's it, at least in admin., and what do I know?

You are right about the links at the top. They can only be changed by Phil.

Diane Don't get to stressed out eh! Remember some R&R now and then.
