to diane: a question

Diane, to me you're some kind of celebrity. (excellent research, regular posts with brilliant links, etc). And FYI: I live in Europe!

So Diane, I'm just curious. What do you do for a living (I remember you being a nurse?) And what makes you so involved in Y2K?

Pardon me for my bold curiousity but I wonder how you look like (I know such kind of questions belong to other kind of forums but it's just my curiousity).

My feeling is that you're extremely intelligent considering your posts.

Hope to hear from you, Robert

Diane,

You have other "secret admirers" as well...

Hi Robert,

Diane with a little "d" works just fine. ;-D

Lately Y2K has become my "life." Each week I keep planning to do other things. ;-(

I live in "Silicon Valley," California, am a native and grew up in the valley though Ive lived in SoCal for awhile too. Have a very eclectic high-tech and esoteric background. Somewhere in the archives I wrote out the details.

Quick response: at any rate, I started out the on-line portion of my life working with a pioneering Information Broker firm located in San Francisco directing operations and working on competitive intelligence research projects. Those were the early days of searching information services using 320 baud modems. I once Founded a SV start-up software development company, and worked for a SONY start-up in the CD-ROM industry, them moved on to 2-D and 3-D computer imaging. (Lots of misc. right brain stuff like, being a feng shui practitioner too. Long stories).

One of my love-to-dos is researching online information. If Y2K hadnt struck me as being so serious last fall, Id definitely be doing other things in this valley. Most likely working with an Internet e-commerce start-up so I could partake in the early pre-IPO stock offerings. (I can still do it later).

Basically, Ive been gifted with the opportunity to take a time-out for the past 6-months, so I became one of the many Forum volunteers.

Hope that helps.

How is Europe in your area doing? Love visiting the whole wonderful area!

Diane,

(LOL--Like so many others here... I feel like a Y2K internet Time Bomb Forum "nurse")
