Australian Darter

Some scans are a good representations of the original. Unfortunately this is not one of them. I am particularly disappointed that it is not sharp enough to show the lovely detail in the back feathers. Also I not quite sure about the excrement on the rock. It's quite bright and draws the eye butI think it also adds to the image by saying "This is my rock. This is where I sun myself." What do you think? For a larger image click here.

I looked at the larger version which provides good eye detail. The bird's pose is good and you have covered the lack of detail in the dark feathers. I wish that the framing provided a tad more room on the left (instead of the right) since that is the direction of the gaze. I would prefer not to have the feces in the frame. It is both unattractive and distracting. I don't need it to know that this is where the bird lives (the bird is present) anymore than I need an over exposure of the desert to know that it's hot.

Is that an out of focus car I see in background? Even if not suggest a bit of cloning of background to hid what it could appear to be
