SAY GOODBYE, BOB

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Sonoma County : One Thread

Bob Busha, our friend and inspiration for the early days of Y2K Sonoma, is leaving with his wife Mary on June 5 to be with his family in the Midwest. I know Bob will get away before any of us will get a chance to say goodbye in the proper fashion So I start this post as a way we can all say our goodbyes in our own way. If you have some thoughts for Bob, please add to this post.

As many of you know, Bob was hired by Dick Williams of Grace Fellowship to start a Y2K Information Center in the early fall of last year as many of us were wondering how we were going to serve people interested in the Y2K issue. Bob gave the whole issue some structure at the Resource Center and sponsored many preparedness meetings and leadership workshops. From these groups came the core group of people who have continued on in a variety of ways now.

It was Bob many people called when they didn't know how to hold a neighborhood or local community meeting. I don't know how many times he gave that leadership talk or the "you are the seed group" speech, but I grew to enjoy it even though I expected it.

Bob and Mary tapped into their own faith in the divine to help us. I I, for one, want to thank them both. I don't think they saw much of each other during their stay in Sonoma County. But they are now going to be with their grown children and granchildren with enough time to do their own preparations before this amorphous millenium shift hits.

Bob may not feel he has done that much now that the whole Y2K lull has hit but Bob you gotta remember..these were seeds you planted and they are growing, sight unseen, in the earth you planted them in. We WERE listening.

Now go on home and get yourself some of those water barrels..and remember us Sonoma County folks from time to time.

The warmest regards and best wishes,

Jean Wasp
