The entry of Saturn and Mars into Aries in early April, 1998 was soon followed by the mass murders in the state of Arkansas, when two schoolboys stole weapons from their grandparents and shot their parents and a number of schoolchildren.

The solar eclipse and square aspect of Saturn and Mars in late August, 1998 was soon followed by a tsunami (tidal wave) in New Guinea, killing over 10,000 people, the cruise missile attack by the U.S. upon Iraq, a crash in the American stock market, and Hurricane Mitch.

The Saturn-Mars opposition on January 19, 1999 was followed a few days later by a major earthquake in Columbia, and increased hostilities in Kosova, Indonesia, and many parts of Africa.

The Saturn-Mars opposition on April 19, 1999 was soon followed by the mass murders in Littleton, Colorado, destabilization of the government of India, and test launching of ballistic missiles by India and Pakistan.

There is not so much good news, astrologically, this summer.

The Saturn-Mars opposition which will occur on August 11, 1999 will coincide with a total solar eclipse, visible in Europe. This may well be associated with the invasion of Yugoslavia by NATO ground troops, and a direct confrontation with Russian military forces. Boris Yeltsin will likely lose control over the Russian government by this summer, and be replaced by people who are more inclined to seek military actions as a way to revive nationalistic pride in Russia's former role as a world superpower.

The American stock market will likely form a top in late May, exhibit neurotic ambivalence during the early summer, and begin a prolonged decline as early as mid-July, 1999. If a gradual but significant decline in stock prices has not occurred by late July, then early August will very likely be the time when a major crash will signal the beginning of a long-term bear market for American stocks. The transit of Jupiter into Aries on May 19, 1999 at 8:28 am, Pacific Daylight Time, is the astrological marker for the beginning of the end of the bull market for this year.

Hillary Rodham Clinton's foray into the New York senatorial race will begin to hit major obstacles in late May. Jupiter rules the 7th House of President Clinton's birthchart, therefore it affects his wife's political prospects. So, she goes from the frying pan into the fire.... The initial enthusiasm for her candidacy will transmute into a more careful analysis of her qualifications. She is an eloquent spokeswoman for liberal causes, but she also carries a lot of old baggage from the Whitewater scandal, the suicide/murder of her aide and confidente Vincent Foster, the commodities trading scandal, Travelgate, and perhaps most of all, being associated with an impeached, lame duck President who received political campaign contributions from the generals of the People's Liberation Army of China. Can Hillary carry this much baggage with her into the Senate? I doubt it. Will the nation's sympathy for her role as the faithful, supportive wife during the Monica Lewinsky drama be sufficient to carry her into elected office? I doubt it.

President Clinton enters the Jupiter Dasa, Mars Bhukti in July, 1999. Not a good time for him. The Rahu Bhukti begins in June, 2000, and this is an even more difficult cycle of karma for him. More political expose's and scandals are in store for President Clinton in the summer of 1999, and it gets worse during the summer of the year 2000. His faithful wife, Hillary, will have to carry a part of his burden upon her own shoulders. Being a member (of the Clinton clique) has its privileges... but also has its liabilities.

The Y2K issue will finally arouse the attention of more people this summer, and many, many more poeple will begin to make serious preparations for emergency situations. If everybody is prepared for an emergency, then if and when it finally occurs, it will not be such a drastic situation, since everybody is ready for it. However, if only a small percentage of the general population is prepared for an emergency, then the government agencies will be overwhelmed with the calls for help, and we will have a real crisis on our hands.

Less than 1% of the people that I have spoken to have made any kind of preparations for Y2K. Most people think that it is an issue blown out of proportion by the mass media. However, these people are choosing to ignore the advice of their own Congressional Budget Office, the Pentagon, the CIA, the chairman of the Federal Reserve System, the chief economist of Merrill Lynch investment company, and the overwhelming majority of computer professionals who are charged with repairing or replacing the tainted software. There is a very real, imminent problem which will very likely affect the entire world, whose scope and impact cannot be accurately determined, but it's going to be big--VERY BIG.
