Y2K is like receiving a diagnosis to have a terminal illness.

I really have a better understanding of my emotions on the Y2K phenomenon.

A lady on this web site made a comparision of y2k to the birth of a child, my reaction was that it's more like accepting my death or a loved one.

Very few people can candidly talk about their death. THAT'S WHY; (99.99999% of the population refuses to discuss Y2K in any length, before you know it you are talking about sports)

Everyone have very little trouble talking about someone else's death, but almost everyone is in denial of their own death.

Very few people make a will.

Very few people make burial arrangements.

The only time we make preparations for our death is when we are diagnosed to have a terminal desease.

Let's give the 99.9999% a break on this web site, y2k is very hard to come to terms with, some people are able to deal with bad news better than others.

It makes no one any braver than the other, my only peace with this, is, I must trust in God, and he's not a COBOL programmer or Bill Gates. Nor did God invent electricity and I do not think he's concerned about the computers either.

This event will test our faith.

Y2K does not single out any one group of people, it will affect everyone.

"...Nor did God invent electricity..."

Uhhh... who did?

"... and I do not think he's concerned about the computers either."

It's always interesting when people attempt to read God's mind.

"This event will test our faith."

In what? -- since God's not concerned with our little plight, what exactly are we putting our faith in?
