RECORDS & INFORMATION MANAGERS MARK YOUR CALENDARS FOR MAY 27, 1999

Plan now on attending the inaugural meeting of the Federal Information and Records Managers (FIRM) Council. This is your chance to become a Charter Member of the FIRM! Make yourself known as a concerned Federal Records Manager interested in leading the way into the automated information world of the 21st century. The organizational meeting will be held on:

Thursday, May 27, 1999, from 10 a.m. to 12 noon At the Office of Federal Housing Enterprise Oversight 1700 G St., N.W., 4th floor, Washington, D.C. (Use the Farragut Metro Station)

The agenda for this meeting is to:

1. vote on acceptance of the Charter and Bylaws 2. nominate Board members - open to all 3. elect Board members 4. discuss potential Work Groups 5. establish Work Groups 6. announce the First Annual Summit 7. propose future events.

Exciting committees will be formed. Informative, interesting speakers from business and government will highlight our meetings. Do not miss the opportunity to make your views known. We will be embarking on an adventure into the realm of advanced information and records management. You cannot find this sort of information in your local library. You will have the opportunity to discuss issues and find answers to those vexing questions that do not have textbook solutions. Plan now on attending -- bring a colleague -- all are welcome. Participation is on an individual basis so agencies are not limited in the number of members they have participating.

With this vision, we the Federal Information and Records Management community do establish the Federal Information and Records Management (FIRM) Council.

Note: This is the consolidation of the former Electronic Records and Information Management Workgroup, the Small Agency Council's Records Officers' Committee, and the Association of Government Records Management Professionals.
