Headin' out for them thar hills!

greenspun.com : LUSENET : TimeBomb 2000 (Y2000) : One Thread

It seems that a lot of us are being alienated from friends and relatives who think we are crazy for getting prepared, even just for storing some extra food and water. This might be a good article to show others that many people are making much more significant preparations, such as building new houses in the Blue Ridge Mountains and relocating! It should also be noted that many of these folks are competent professionals, not fanatical survivalists wearing fatigues and building arsenals of weapons. Thought it might help put things in perspective a bit.

Thanks for the link, @. I just hope that everyone knows that anyone who doesn't live on my hill befor The Day is just another trespasser.

If EVERYbody heads for the hills, then the cities will be the safest place to be.

We had three major movie stars buy ranches in our county in the past year. (Two of these were in the past two months.) One is starting a large commercial fruit orchard. Could just be a tax write-off????

Yeah, and Kenny Rogers sells roasted chicken now. What's your point? :)

Dear Mr. Poole - I am a bit taken aback by your terse reply. I just thought it unusual as the last Hollywood crowd we had in this county bought a resort type affair in the 1920s - a long time ago. It is unusual activity and I personally thought it might be due to "bug out" plans, although I did not directly say so. I thought it relative to the topic. As Hollywood, to my knowledge, has been sort of silent on the issue, it was of interest to me and a potential sign of some movement toward GIT there.

No, it is not fact - just women's intuition. (And I reserve the right to change my mind - lol.)

Sheesh, Poole! I said it on another thread but I'll say it again; you get flamed on this forum so much because you don't think!

INCOMING!!!!!! Heads up folks. Facts, the clintons are going on vacation next weekend. The Cox report will be released this week and the senate is screaming for blood. Clintons administration is about to be gutted. Boris Yeltsin is also going on vacation next week. He has just replaced Primakov and most of his cabinet, enough of them to form a second wartime government. Next weekend is Memorial day weekend. Three days. Plenty good cover for your local Trilateralist and CFR members to make themselves scarce from Washington and New York City. The Bildenbergers have just completed their little take over the world session and are conveniently out of pocket. I think there is an excellent chance we may see a major american city, or a bunch of them, go up in mushroom clouds next weekend. Or a major terrorist attack on the Indy 500. Keep your eyes peeled and be ready to run like hell.
