I've seen messages posted about availability of Nikon Coolpix 950. Why such a long wait. I ordered from Egghead on 04/03,still waiting as of 05/22.

I've also ordered from egghead for the same camera in April without any delivery. Getting frustrated with them. I know someone who ordered from another vendor for $50 more and had his camera in one week. Might be worth it.

I just noticed Egghead has dropped their price again.$763 today,last week it was over $900,yesterday it was $849.Makes me wonder if they are filling orders at the higher prices and making the rest of us wait.

Do you mean the higher prices that were placed before the lower prices? That sounds fair to me!

Sorry for the confusion, when I placed my order on 4/3 the price was $770 and stayed there for 2-3 weeks. Since it has fluctuated as much as $180 at different times.

Unfortunately many suppliers do take the orders for new products at a higher price and wait to deliver after a manufacturer price drop. Also their unit cost will be based on quantity ordered, if they can wait and buy 100,000 units instead 0f 10,000 units they will get a better unit price from the manufacturer. So they increase their profit margin. I have personally experience this in past with many items including the latest Intel CPUs. It is unfair to the customers, but it has been a common practice for a while among many suppliers.

Finally received Coolpix 950 from Egghead. Two hours after it was delivered a customer service rep called and left a message that shipment would be delayed again and if I would like to cancel the order I should call them back? But I'm happy

I also ordered from Egghead on April 1st and still haven't received it yet. Rather fustrated right now. Almost want to change my mind and buy the c2000. I guess I shouldn't order on April Fool's.
