Any connection between Y2K and all these big mergers?

greenspun.com : LUSENET : TimeBomb 2000 (Y2000) : One Thread

I was just wondering, has there been any speculation on this forum about the wave of mega-mergers over the past couple of years--particularly with reference to Y2K concerns? I just heard today of another big bank merger. Is this all coincidental that the frenzy is escalating as we near the big roll over?

The mergers are all a part of a pattern including the stock market mania, the going public of "Goldman Sachs" former employer of Robert Rubin, selling to Joe Six pack while the market is at an all time high, insiders getting out at the top, consolidation of operations to reduce salary costs, and the certain knowledge of the insiders that profits and stock values will positively fall next year as Y2k hits with a vengence. Buyer beware. Watch what I do not what I say. 1929 all over again. The market is sound. Prepare for 3 days. Repeat a lie often enough and people will believe it.
