I think this may have been answered in the "older messages" section.

Using Powershot Pro in RAW mode, then downloading using CF card reader, I cannot open the image file, which says it is .CRW format, in Photoshop or any other image editing program that I have.

Must the image be downloaded using Canon Twain and the serial connector, or does anyone know of a workaround please?

I copy the RAW files to my PC and the use the Ulead program, with which I the "scan" the files, i.e. using the TWAIN-driver that came with the camera, I retrieve the files, not from the camera, but from the PC. In short: do as you would when retrieving directly from the camera, but do it from your PC.
