Why hasn't President Clinton led readiness?

greenspun.com : LUSENET : TimeBomb 2000 (Y2000) : One Thread

Why hasn't President Clinton told the American people what is going on the way British Prime Minister Tony Blair has? He's told the British people what to do to protect themselves and prepare according to what I have heard and read. He has given speeches and also pamphlets out and seems to be much more visible on Y2K.

He's too busy giving away our technology to his Chinese campaign supporters. Time for him to give them what they paid for apparently: From the Y2kWeatherman In my comments in the Y2kWatch-News yesterday I commented that we could find acts of treason by the Clinton administration. Can we trust a leader to tell us the truth about the Y2k readiness of the country who is provably a liar? Here is a Senator that believes Clinton has done treasonous acts: > This is a speech given by Senator James Inhofe on the floor > of the Senate a few weeks ago (March 15, 1999). Do you want the real answer to that question or is this just another opportuntiy to bash Clinton some more? Seems lately this forum is becoming more about Clinton and war and conspiracies than anything to do with Y2K.

-- @ (@@@.@), May 15, 1999.

TREASON AND BILL CLINTON HAVE EVERYTHING TO DO WITH Y2K. WHILE CLINTON SCURRIES AROUND TRYING TO COVER HIS A_ _, NOTHING IS BEING DONE TO EDUCATE THE PUBLIC ABOUT Y2K. FURTHER, WHILE WE ARE INVOLVED IN A WAR THAT CLINTON STARTED, ALL OF THIS COUNTRY'S MONEY AND ATTENTION IS BEING FOCUSED ON THAT - INSTEAD OF Y2K! TRYING LOOKING AT THE BIG PICTURE, WHY DONCHA!!!!!!!

@@@, You wrote 'Do you want the real answer to that question". Yes, I do, and if Clinton is the one who deserves bashing it isn't my doing now is it? Just for once I would like him to admit responsibility.

mb, I looked at the link you gave and did not know about that floor statement which was very interesting (and devastating).

Eyes Wide Open, I think your answer makes the most convincing response so far. My guess was that England was not as prepared as the U.S. and this may have been the reason they are taking a more agressive stance than we are.

Eyes wide open (but brain gone),

May I remind you that it was Clinton who mentioned Y2K to the entire nation in the State of the Union address, and was almost laughed off the stage by a Congress full of Grand Old Farty Republicans who don't know the difference between a computer and a hearing aid. The easiest solution to all of the problems which your miniscule brain cannot comprehend is to put all of the blame on one person. Unfortunately, you are incapable of understanding that life isn't quite that simple.

This has everything to do with Y2k. The lights are going to go out, "the free market may not be the best way to distribute goods"(Koskinen), and if there election isn't "postponed" under martial law conditions, I'll eat my hat. If you aren't just waving this information away and want to know more, read this book, "The Coming Collision: Global Law vs. U.S. Liberties" http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/1563841576/qid=926810012/sr=1-1 /002-1141391-8980868 And to understand just how and why Clinton is prepared to implement a totalitarian state, read "Government by Decree: From President to Dictator" http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/1563841665/qid=926810012/sr=1-3 /002-1141391-8980868

This last explains about executive orders nationalizing all industry and business, confiscating private property, conscripting citizens for forced labor without compensation, etc.. Some will try to tell you that these E.O.s are "outdated," that they've "expired." WRONG. Every one of these powers from "stale" E.O.s has been subsumed and incorporated into subsequent "fresh" E.O.s.. We are in a legal "State of Emergency" NOW. The Chief Executive has dictatorial powers NOW. Don't believe it? Neither did I. READ.

Read it. It's only four bucks, for god's sake. YES, the president is a traitor. Read "Year of the Rat" if you don't believe it. This material has not been debunked. The Whitehouse is trying to supress it. Word is getting around. Inhof, whose speech is cited above, went for a ride in his private plane the other day (he's a pilot) and HIS PROPELLER FELL OFF. The FBI is investigating (yeah, right). That should give you some idea of how substantial these charges are, and how much is at stake here. A senator (I can't recall who) who had access to the Cox Report on Chinese espionage, said "it confirms everything in 'Year of the Rat'." The release of the Cox Report has been delayed AGAIN by the Whitehouse. When it comes out it will be heavily censored, but there is no way Clinton can keep the lid on this anymore.

Get wise. As Hirsen noted recently (the May 11 Sightings interview: http://www.broadcast.com/shows/endoftheline/99archives.stm ) The tabloids in pre-nazi Germany were the first to report on what Hitler was really doing. "Fringe" media are imprecise, but they are an early warning. Now more and more people, liberals as well as conservatives, are realizing that Clinton has sold us all out. He's a globalist pawn. And these globalists have no use for a free people. "Rights" as defined by the UN, are granted by the global authority. Rights, under the US Constitution are Divine Rights, pre-existing, naturally. The Constitution is merely the legal embodyment of these, and their legal guarantor. No one can take them away, and we have the right to fight to secure them. Hold that distinction in your mind. It is the key to being a free individual or a slave, as you choose.

That's what this is about. No, it's not pleasant. Yes, I would rather be thinking about something else. But it's like Y2k: the winds of change are blowing, and we had better be prepared to weather the storm.

I'm not a conservative. I am suprised to be siding with people like Bob Barr, Inhof and Jack Metcalf. But they are the only people with enough balls to speak out about this. Maybe they're the only people in DC not on the take to this cabal. I don't like the bigotry of American conservatives. But if the Powers behind Clinton have their way, there will soon be no freedom in America. Other concerns are petty in comparison with this. OUR HIGH TECHNOLOGY AND DEFENSIVE CAPABILITY HAVE BEEN SOLD TO OUR ADVERSARIES BY A U.S. PRESIDENT. Don't believe it? Good, that means you're not a moron. I didn't believe it either. Then I did some reading. Now it's not a question of belief - I have the facts. Our freedom is only guaranteed by our vigilance. If you won't even bother to read these books (get them through interlibrary loan if you can't buy them), then don't be suprised when a totalitarian "emergency" state declares a "new era of order and prosperity" that does not include "excessive, outmoded" personal freedoms like freedom of speech, freedom of assembly, freedom of religion, freedom to defend oneself...

In that state, you will be property. Nothing but a farm animal.

Are you ready for that?

dont@know.why,

Clinton delegated his Y2K responsibilities to John Koskinen ... a former lawyer.

-- Diane J. Squire (sacredspaces@yahoo.com), May 15, 1999.

A simple amswer to your question (even though I think Clinton is guilty of treason):

Examine his personality. He is the type of person that would never really believe Y2K could be a problem. He's "profane, self-centered, and egotistical" according to his best friends --- How could he get his mind off himself long enough to objectively THINK? It would be to much work when theres still more women to look at (and stuff).

He is psychologically incapable of believing it is really a problem.

-- Jon Johnson (narnia4@usa.net), May 15, 1999.

I think he looks at Y2k, war, plague, whatever, and thinks "how can I further my own interests and those of my handlers?" More likely, he is told how the new development will fit into The Plan.

This China thing is going to blow him and his globalist pals right of the political map in America. Either that, or we all bend over for global socialism. Our task is to make this risk apparent, and to demand action from our elected representatives.

Check out "freerepublic.com." They've If you're not a conservative, take them with a grain of salt. They aren't all racists and anti-abortion zealots - and try to remember that that does not matter now. We won't have the freedom to argue about such issues if we don't stop these globalist bastards in their tracks, and soon. They are trying to sell America out from under us. We need to serve them notice that it's not for sale. When we're done plugging the leak in the boat, we can go back to arguing where we're going to sail it.

Dano, great post, hammer it home!! I have never been an ultra right wing conservative either, but current government policies are forcing me into that camp. Hell, I was a democrat until Clinton cme along.

-- Nikoli Krushev (doomsday@y2000.com), May 15, 1999.

I wasn't a democrat, but I voted for him the first time. I thought he was the greatest thing since sliced bread (there, I admitted it. It makes me want to go take a shower).

Now he's trying to sell the farm out from under us! If I could go back 8 years an talk to myself about this, it would sound like paranoid gibberish. Which is probably how it sounds to 80% of the public.

But one thing I'm sure of. This guy is making a lot of people ashamed to be Americans. He's poisoning our confidence in any kind of leadership, and methodically undoing everything we have to be proud of here.

It's been said that "a conservative is a liberal who has just been mugged." Well, I'm telling you all: WE'VE BEEN MUGGED, and unless we regain consciousness soon, we're not going to feel anything until we wake up - in chains.

Well said Dano,

I agree with almost everything you said apart from this...

"When it comes out it will be heavily censored, but there is no way Clinton can keep the lid on this anymore."

Wanna bet?

I would put NOTHING past this "man". He will stoop to no lows to divert attention. His plan is to be in power way past 2000 - as we all know, there will BE no election, the country and world will be in a shambles. Really, you've got to admire how they are orchestrating all this, they don't seem to have put a foot wrong yet.

AND - the PROPELLER FALLING OFF - this, as any private pilot will tell you, JUST DOES NOT HAPPEN.

The boot hill body count was going to claim another victim, but thanks to the pilot's skill he was able to glideto safety.

As Dano said, read the books he cited. I haven't read them all myself but I'm going to. Another essential one for filling in Clinton's background is the Ambrose Evans-Pritchards' "The Secret life Of Bill Clinton

http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/0895264080/o/qid=926821298/sr=2 -1/002-3424755-3808004

And "The Strange death Of Vincent Foster" By Chris Ruddy

http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/0684838370/ref=sim_books/002- 3424755-3808004

Stay tuned on this one folks - it's going to get more crazy as the months blast by, it's gonna be a rollercoastera nd train-wreck at the same time.

It reminds me of the Steve Martin joke about the guy who dies and goes to heaven, looks around at the pearly gates, etc., and says to God: "You know, in college they told me this was all bullshit."

After you "get" the Clinton-selling-our-military-to-the-Chinese, it's not hard to "get" the "Clinton body count." I really thought that was all bullshit. I laughed it off.

I'm not laughing now.

IT IS QUITE AMAZING THAT ANYONE WOULD THINK THAT THE GOVERNMENT WOULD BE IN THE FOREFRONT TO PREPARE AND PROTECT ITS CITIZENERY FROM Y2K OR ANY OTHER DISASTER.

cya, dis/misinformation, vote posturing, tax shakedowns, spinning- lying, credittaking, photo-ops, grandstanding, gun-grabbing, Constitution-trashing, poll-watching, etc.

And it's not just Klinton and the Father of the Internet.....

Interesting line of conversation. My big question is this - How have we allowed a single man in our country, a representative republic, represent our desire as a country to go to war without a single moment of debate by our elected representatives??

I listened for hours to the debate about Kuwait (Democrats were "profoundly bothered" by the concept of us getting involved)and here, nothing, just an announcement that the bombing was about to begin. I find this incredibly dangerous!!

Take that mind set (just bomb, don't discuss with those who are America - the people) and take it into an environment where there are moderate to severe dissuptions is power, water, food, gasoline, natural gas, communications, the ability of our government to collect taxes, control aircraft, the list is just endless. What to you think Clinton is capable of doing "for our own good".

Our final answer may lie in the military. Wether the commanders will follow orders or "protect and defend the Constitution of the United States".

I suppose we shall all see if a few months.

aaa ?? (Must stand for asshole cubed) We don't need klinton to be bashed ; we need him IN JAIL, WHERE HE BELONGS, AWAITING TRIAL FOR TREASON AND ULTIMATELY HANGING !!!. It could become a national holiday of REMEMBERANCE ! A. Wise Man

-- A. Wiseman (Wiseman@prodigy.com), May 16, 1999.

The simplest answer to this question, is this:

Billy Jeff is NOT a LEADER......HE IS A PUPPET and a FOLLOWER !!!!! He has no concept of what leadership is or how to go about being a leader.......the closest he comes, is trying to manipulate thru blackmail and coercion.........a far cry from TRUE LEADERSHIP !!!!!

Thank you Dano, for the true insight.......though, I just don't understand why people in general, don't see what is happening to our once great nation.......it's truly sad. If enough people don't wake up pretty soon, and take a stand, we're all going to go down the tubes because of this psychotic liar.

-- Sandy (Patches96@worldnet.att.net), May 16, 1999.

Jerome,

Thank you for responding. The two things that scare liberals and "progressives" about conservatives is that a vocal minority(?) are 1)biblical in their approach to law 2) anti-gay, again, from a biblical perspective of condemnation 3) anti-abortion, to the point of refusing to condemn, if not overtly supporting, the bombing of abortion clinics. These issues are wedges that divide Americans and prevent them from focusing on THE fundamental issue: whether we should preserve our national integrity, our Constitution, or whether we should allow ourselves to become an appendage to some global system of governance that is antithetical to human freedom and dignity (which the two books I recommended, above, explain well). Many people are driven to side with globalism because U.S. nationalist, patriot elements are associated with these extreme views. I'm not saying this perception is accurate or justified! I'm just saying that conservatives and patriots need to close ranks and prioritize, and deal with the image problem. We need to focus on one thing now: the Constitution. If we lose that, we'll eventually lose freedom of worship, and every other smaller battle that we may or may not care to engage in. The rhetoric of "cultural war" has to stop. It's playing right into globalist hands. MHO.

Dano

-- Dano (bookem@blacksand.srf), May 16, 1999.

LOL ... maybe the ultra conservatives and patriots need a P.R. team?

Koskinen may have some leads.

Clinton is an extreme disappointment. But then, so are most, not all, of our elected and non-elected officials.

Diane, still slightly left of center on this one

-- Diane J. Squire (sacredspaces@yahoo.com), May 16, 1999.

Diane,

Clinton is part of a long line of executives who have preserved and exercized dictatorial powers and undermined our Constitutional government. His selling secrets to the Chinese (read "Year of the Rat," and amazon.com's number one seller, "BETRAYAL") is more than a "disappointment" - it's treason. I'm worried that this treason is going to provoke assassination, thus depriving Americans of a trial that would highlight the underlying problem: we have given our Presidents the power of Emperors. Under these conditions, we will inevitably lose self-governance. The whole Chinese espionage scandal should be THE number one issue right now, but not a word is breathed of it on the tv news - which is where more than half of us get our news, exclusively. This is ominous, people! Likewise the concealment of the NATO bodycount. We are not getting the news we need to function as a republic. Is this going to improve, come Y2k?

Dano

-- Dano (bookem@blacksand.srf), May 16, 1999.

Dano

Thanks for your explanation - very good points (these last few days, I think you could maybe add wedge #4 - gun control). I agree that conservatives are perceived to have an image problem, but how do you fight a press that always describes them with adjectives like "radical", "far right", "ultra-conservative", etc. I sure don't see liberals and "progressives" (sounds nice, doesn't it) even coming close to preserving our Constitution. They use these wedges to further scare and divide the people, pass more freedom-robbing federal laws, and as you say, distract them from the fundamental issue - the sovereignty of our nation. Many times, when talking about these issues, they compare America to the more "civilized" European countries. Just another conditioning step toward globalism.

I'm working on getting the two James Hirsen books you mentioned (local Books A Million had no listing!, Amazon & B&N are backordered). I've heard of him from somewhere - I watch/listen to so many shows now, I've lost track - maybe C-SPAN? Also, I'm checking out the May 11 Jeff Rense show you cited (he's also new to me, as he's not broadcast in my area).

The subject of Executive Orders has always puzzled me somewhat - I couldn't understand where this power came from. I was particularly alarmed and amazed once when Bill Clinton had just signed another onerous directive and Paul Begala said something like "Stroke of the pen, rule of the land - pretty cool". The Imperial Presidency shining bright and clear for all to see.

Just a few of the many pieces of a paranoid-sounding plan?

I'm starting to pay attention.

-- Jerome Allison (jallison@netdoor.com), May 18, 1999.

1) If anybody other than Clinton were in office - even Gore - the Y2K problem would not be a crisis; it would have been attacked earlier and with more success by the administration, and the administration lead on Y2K would have (could have, with proper incentives) drug the rest of the US economy (kicking and screaming perhaps, but they woould have progressed) into compliance. For example, Bush started the Social Security Admin. into compliance before he left office.

Once the US businesses had to be compliant (to get a contract with the government for example) the rest of the world would have had incentives to come along - perhaps starting as early as 94-95.

But Clinton's agenda - the national news media's agenda - has no room for what is good for the US. Only what is good for Clinton.

2) Stemming from that, if anyone but Clinton were President, I would not so strongly fear the probable martial, confiscation of firearms, and arrest of US citizens that he will institute "due to Y2K panic-mongers, profiteers, and hoarders" - that's you and I dear friends.....

3) Because he has no morals, no fear of the media, and no respect for the law, and is absolutely determined to lie and manipulate the truth to enhance his legacy - perhaps this is his single agenda - there are no limits that can be assumed "too far" beyond his intent - though postponing the election may be the one thing he will not do.
