Image degeneration with Nikon 950 - Dark Pixel Groups

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Imaging Resource Discussion : One Thread

After about 12 days of perfect pictures with my 950, it now has developed a disasterous problem. Every shot has hundreds of dark pixel clusters in groups of 4 pixels. I've tried new batteries, reset camera, other CF cards, format card in camera, all to no avail. The shots are totally un-useable. It seems to be degenerating before my eyes. I've logged onto the Nikon Tech site for the past 18 hours with no answer. It looks like digital camera leprosy! If you've had this problem please email me, or I can send you a sample via email.

Hi, Welcome to the world of Nikon and horrendous Tech Support! Your lack of response is not unusual. The camera does have several problems and bugs. These were noted in a review that compared it to the new Canon Pro. The review is at this site: http://photo.askey.net/ Sorry you feel for the hype and bought the camera. IMO, both the Olympus and the Canon are better buys. Howard
