a, I'm aghast! Surely not on the Reagan/Bush watch!! Surely not as far back as the 1970s! Of course Reaga/Bush and Copany were distracted by the Iran-Contra affair. But what really amazes me, is this: Was any one, at any time, any where, during any administration, minding the store?

But what can you expect? Ames actually flaunted his ill gotten gains, and probably caused the deaths of other agents, and yet none of the government agency bureaucrats (read Give Away Boys) caught on. We are guarded by the Keystone Cops.

Some of the espionage began then - it increased under Clinton, was hidden under Clinton, and was not prosecuted or prevented under Clinton's watch.

Reagan and Bush at least put traitors in prison, Clinton promotes them for protecting him. Clinton sold technology for campaign donations, and then used the media and Democratic Party to deliberately hide the fact (Glenn, Reno, Gore, the DNC, etc.)

Yes, of course you're right but it's much much worse than that. Clinton signed off on abandoning the Reagan Strategic Defense Initiative - we now have no effective ant-ICBM missiles to shoot the buggers down, hell, we are now on a first strike basis where we will not retaliate unless hit first.
