Imperial Guard Rock!

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Games Workshop Discussion : One Thread

Having played quite a few 3rd ed. battles now, I know for sure, nothing beats the impies! i'm 6 for 6, so far, and now i'm in a local 40K league. For some reason, the boys in green just can't be stopped. My 1,500 army has two platoons, stromtroopers in a chimera, HQ in a chimera, a russ, a hellhound, and some ogryns escorted by a commisar. THAT'S INSANE! most marine armies can't muster more than thirty troops for that cost! In my last battle, I wiped out a blood angel's force in hand to hand combat, that is after he deep striked dante with honor guard, and an assault squad behind my lines. I survived with 75% of my forces intact! that is sick, by probability, I should have folded, but I still managed to take my objective! You could play this up to his poor generalship, or my genious, but I solidly deny both of them. It was all because of my boys, give 'em an HQ close by, or A commisar in the ranks, they can stand against anything. It's a green tide, and I don't mean orks! I'm sorry to waste the room, but considering no one's posted anything signifigant for at least 3 weeks, why not give it a try.

So who thinks their army can beat my boys?
