LMAO! LMAO! Doomer predictions so far are LAMO

To wit:

January 1, 1999: big Doomer predictions for all kinds of failures. (Including 'JoAnne Effect'.) Reality: not enough to warrant a sneeze. (InfoMagic and Hamasaki also predicted a stock market crash by this time; DUH.)

April 1, 1999: New fiscal years, Japan, Canada, New York. Doomer predictions: Big Problems. It's in Ed's book. Got it right here. Reality: not enough to warrant a sneeze.

April 6, 1999: Beginning of U.K. government fiscal year. Doomer predictions: Big Problems. Reality: not enough to warrant a sneeze.

April 9, 1999: 99th day of 1999. Doomer predictions: Big Problems. Reality: not enough to warrant a sneeze.

April 15, 1999: More new fiscal years. Doomer predictions: Big Problems. Reality: not enough to warrant a sneeze.

AndyFreek: based on such a non-position, from whence comes your bravado? From a position of sheer insanity? Do you have answers to these non-occurrences? Straight answers? I don't mean evasive bullcrap. I mean straight answers.

Waiting. And I already know the answer: you don't have one. No Doomer does. And for good reason: straight-up answers to these questions, that are acceptable to Doomer-types, just plain don't exist.

Hey, CL...

Don't forget the rollover of the travel industries' systems on February 4th that also went off with nary a hiccup.

Keep smiling,

The topic of this thread is "A Comedy of Errors". I'm dead on topic Ed, thank you very much.

Chicken,

I have the answer. The one and only answer. It can not be debated. THEY WERE WRONG!

Pollies,

Yes we are in Y2K now, but, it's really only the forcast software that your pointing to.

WACKOS AHEAD! This website is part of the US Mental Hospital recreation program. None of what resides here is real, but as a service to the community we allow you access to visit with the patients, careful, they bite!

If one truely reads the LaTimes story, what else really needs to be added on the Electric Utility deal? Digital vs Analog says the FEAR that places like Russia are going to implode have little basis in reality. Technically glitches are simply not very possible. Possible yes, but the greater threat is from human error as we know.

Do the numbers in this story and I think it clear, Hamasaki is clinically nuts. Of course it(LaTimes story) is all BS since look at all the employees bailing from them plants. Look at the USMC in Pendelton, they are mobilizing to leave pronto. Cali in total is ready to invade our borders(Nevada) at any moment now. I hear the buffet at the new Belagio is pretty good :) Of course Wall Street is also blind to what these EXPERTS think they see. Gold is sky-rocketing. Most are paying the 401k/IRA penalty to access their LIQUID funds tied-up in equity markets. Most are selling their homes to unleash those "prep" funds. Clinton is trying to force a world war with China(bad map embassy story now called conspiracy). See Bill in his ego-ways needs a "major" diversion so guys like a.a.@a forget about all the broken chips and code, PR deal. See a.a.@a.com matters SO MUCH the administration is playing to him! It also takes this much to divert them sheeple types, they are sure Y2k worried.

Stephen was summarilly tarred and feathered today I see. How dare he ask a legitimate question, how dare he! If they have been wrong before, why believe them in the future? CAUSE THESE PEOPLE ARE NUTS, that is why, GI? The salespeople have the "products" these ZEROS want. it was heard..."Why do you care if I prepare'? No reason other than maybe Columbine/Norco you idiot! Or the escalating WASTE OF FREAKING money on Y2k work inhernet in the LaTimes story for one, wow what a mess they found! Doomers are NOT the innocent little sheep they claim to be. These people are negative drags on all of us. Freaking prepare and get lost, fast bozos. Why this NEED to WARN everyone? What do YOU care if the rest of us do not think the reaction to Armaggeden is 50lbs of beans? Them beans are not gunna be worth squat if HALF of your OPINIONS materialize. I have been in a riot situation(LA 1992) and can assure you them beans will be the last thing on your pebble-brain. Think SUICIDE if you are really serious bean-butt. Think looting if you are really serious.

NOBODY believes them wackos over at ToastED's, NOBODY with a life at least. Them people are the laughing stock now, KIA is using them now to sell cars. Key is to laugh at the madness. They wonder why places like this are slow? Cause IT is like over you idiot. Plus they dare not post here as they are not so annonymous here. Why even bother discussing facts? They just ignore them anyhow. WE here have THE RIGHT to selectively ignore their Factiods as NONE of them amount to anything. When they ignore like the LaTimes story, they are being irresponsible. Y2k is/was/maybe an issue. So far it is turning out to be a major dud. This IS very important news. To think it doesn't matter is ludicrous. To then claim it is all happy-faces is the height of stupidity. Or the work, or the quick-fixes being employed, or the whatever it is Today to explain why it is May 1999 and we have seen NOTHING! Never will a mentally insane person ever admit they are wrong, it will always be something out-there.

I went to NetWorld+Interop99 today and can tell you Y2k was a no-show. NOBODY there was pitching MREs. If one actually thinks Y2k will amount to anything close to what is spewed by the doomers, you are so stupid it defys words. Their predictions ain't gunna happen 100% guaranteed. Some laggards will be hit by the BUG and fall as they should. Society will be carry-on like this is any news. You have no idea what is ahead, it in no way looks anything like what Ed Turdon figures I assure you.

There is little question we are in a period of incredible change. There is also little question issues like an over-priced stock market are real. Many of the societal issues are real. China/Kosovo are issues. Nothing new really, called life. The answer has never been to bitch/whine/ or decide not to play. Prepare, no kidding for any normal type event. Y2k is NOT an issue requiring MREs I assure you. Everything you will need can be had at your local markets and stores if you are moved. Just do it and get on with life. This IS NOT even an issue. The salesman have made this one.

I wish I could say less than 235 days till the wackos shut-up but that is wishful thinking. It will always be something for those losers. Life is too short to waste living without Faith and deluding oneself they have it. I hope some at this webboard understand this issue can be a huge positive for one, if you really understand the issues involved.

Don't you love this announcement: "WE here have THE RIGHT to selectively ignore their Factiods as NONE of them amount to anything." Looks to me like selectively ignoring our "Factiods" [sic] used up close to a thousand words... So did anyone suggest taking away their RIGHT? Or their LEFT? Please desist at once, it makes them cranky.

Outings, why don't you just answer the question? Its easy for a person to pick through hundreds of posts to select one sentence, which then can be completely taken the wrong way, depending on if the statement was sarcastic(Which mine was).

Instead of posting what we right in Y2K Debunking, why don't you post in there? We get lonely when GIs only hang out with people that think exactly the same.

Patty-cake, mein fren' from Der Boonkah, vot vas de qvestion?

As for posting vot you right over der, vell, see, perhaps you right over der but you wrong over here, ja? So if OutingsR posts over der, even dough it's right, den it gets wrong, hmm? Jawohl? Okay! Try to tink of dese as svimming pool. Ve don't pee in your pool, please not to pee in ours.

Vot it is, Patty-cake, is ol' OutingR don't tink just de same as everyone on dis here board. Dat's de beauty of it, ja? Ve all tink Y2K vill cause ze big oom-pah-pah, but ve have all kindsa different ideas 'bout how and how much. Dat's vhy you like to hang out vit us, ve are much more fun zan zose pollys over dere.

Well,

Stay tuned. Next year, some things just won't be able to keep a lid on 'em.

Outings - how very interesting - I had always thought that the trolls were ignoring facts out of immature ignorance. I guess I was wrong, since the post you quoted appears to indicate that they are knowingly lying, ah culpability! ah venality! One wonders if they're hoping to grow up and go into politics.

'a':

I think you need to clarify your position a bit here.

I don't expect my house to burn down, but I insure it against fire anyway. I don't expect banks to fail, but I don't keep my money in there anyway. I don't expect a flat tire, but I carry a spare. I don't expect to need a year's worth of food, water and other supplies, but I've stockpiled them anyway.

If you think it's hypocritical to avoid unnecessary risks, go ahead and be as reckless as you want. I won't mind.

"a", once again you have made my day. LOL!! You need to spice up your play a bit with some Decker-isms, maybe some Pauly-anna Davis-isms too.

Lately, Gary North has been pointing out that the pollyannas "last line of defense", so to speak, is that Y2K is actually a completely trivial, innocuous problem, since their it-will-be-fixed-in-time stance is running out of gas as the days to 2000 get shorter and shorter. I'm betting that this is what we will soon be seeing from the pollys.

To Paul Davies,

You mention the Euro conversion as going off without a hitch. Tell that to the people of Marseille, France when the local PTT (the largest government run bank outside of China probably) was unable to process the monthly government electronic payments into the accounts of the union pensioners. There was literally a riot. It didn't get much press internationally, but I would hardly call it a smoot transition.

Oh yeah, and the Euro is tanking.

-- GEC (childsge@msx.upmc.edu), May 12, 1999.

GEC:

The "Marseille riot" was reported one time, by a French tabloid (and not even in Marseille). It appeared in NO reputable French paper or other media outlet, and was not followed up on. Uh, there wasn't any riot, see?

Why do you continue to repeat debunked stories? Surely you don't think such misinformation is helpful to anyone.
