compare Olympus 620 vs Olympus 2000 vs Nikon Coolpix 950

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Imaging Resource Discussion : One Thread

Can anybody help? First what is the difference (aother than cost) between say the 620 and the 2000 (or even the 400Z)? Then what is the comparison between the Nikon 950 and the best of the three Olympus? Tough to make a decision with only the one comparative pix site, and then taken at different times, etc. etc. Any help would be much appreciated! Thanx!!!

The 2000 has higher res. (2.1 mb), shorter "between-shots" time, better, more compact form factor, remote control for triggering and "slide show" convenience, largest max aperture (f 2.0) among other digital cameras in its league. You should check it out in person to get the feel of it. Currently avail. @ Best

Note that the 2000, unlike the 620 is NOT an SLR. For many applications, this is significant.

I myself have been looking very closely at the 950 and the c2000 zoom. At first I would have chosen the c2000 hands down, but after reading the users reviews when the c2000z came out was suggesting that almost everyone who got one was dissapointed. A number of the returned the c2000 and bought the 950 and said it was a far superior camera. On top of this i have seen no reviews of the 950 where the users didn't conclude it was a great camera (It is not without its faults but then nothing is!)
