I know there is a major motion picture coming out slated for late 3Q, early 4Q called Y2K: The Movie. I guess it is going to star Chris O'Donnell (Robin from Batman and Robin...looks like he's moving up in the world.) I also heard a rumor that there is a made-4-TeeVee movie coming out somewhat soon...july,august...have no confirmation on this. for the Y2K movie, I believe it is being produced by Warner Bros (or distributed). It might be on their website...If not look for mentions of Y2K with the newly released "Entrapment". The ones I've read mention this one, but alas, I do not have a link to give you...

I don't think it;s coming out in 3Q or 4Q, or ever. After all the discussions late last year about this movie, it has vanished off the radar. Could't find any reference on the Corona "Coming Attractions" site, which has massive listings for films in every stage of production. Alta Vista found a reference to one rather cheesy "Year 2000" movie (not, repeat NOT listed by "Coming Attractions"), but it's a very, very low-budget indie.

Not sure what happened. They really needed to release a "Y2K" movie end of 1998 or 1Q 1999 to "hit the window", so it may be that the principals decided they had other, better prospects.

Or somebody in authority brought it to their attention that they would be starting a panic on the order of "The War Between The Worlds".

You're right zoobie, that would start them buying beans...

I sell beans, already packed in buckets. Some other local Y2K preparation suppliers and I were discussing this the other day and decided that if they do release a movie we're going to set up shop in the parking lot. :-)

Ted, That would be too good an opportunity to miss!

The series "the Net" had a "simulated y2k" episode earlier this year. Unfortunately, planes fell from the sky. Otherwise, it showed traffic lights out and hospitals packed from accidents and without computers. Of course, the heorine sat down at the keyboard and fiddled around for 5 minutes and solved all the problems.

Hey ya'll! Don't forget the PAX show Monday May 10, 1999 at 9PM.

'How To Prepare Your Family For Y2K'

http://www.paxtv.com/program/special/Default.htm

I am going to tape it [on my compliant VCR] cuz I gotta work that night.

Um, I can't find whether this is Eastern time or what, so check for your local station.
