Hey Doomers I made a plane reservation what gives???

greenspun.com : LUSENET : TimeBomb 2000 (Y2000) : One Thread

I'm so disappointed...I made a plane reservation for the year 2000..

I know this is old news but you doomers all said that the initial reports of a successful fix to the reservation systems was hype and it would crash soon...IT STILL HASN'T what went wrong....

Remember back in January where by now the entire airline system would be mess'ed up do to crashed reservation and scheduling systems....

BTW: I was flying during the outage in Chicago ...(my plane was 10 minutes early and didn't fall out of the sky....

FYI: Since I'm fool for not believeing all the gloom and doom I was wondering how much money our pal Ed Y. has made from is "books of panic" and where he was putting that money since money will be worthless...Ed since money will be worthless why are you "selling" your books?????? I just can't figure that one out

Wayne,

I don't have Ed's book, or Rick Cowles' book, or Les Rayburn's video. I do have www access and can find much more information on this subject than any book can present.

I understand that Ed's book was available FOR FREE for quite a while on his web site. Anybody with a computer and internet access could read it. I think Ed did a great thing by making his book available to people without a computer, still the majority of Americans. I also think that people like Ed, by sounding the alarm early, are responsible raising awareness, and are responsible for much of the early work that has been done. Without this work, we would surely be "doomed."

Ed and Rick and Les did not cause this problem. They are making an effort to spread the word. What has your contribution been? <:)=

Sheesh, Sysman. Wayne's from Dallas. Maybe even has acquaintances at SMU.

Everything's gonna be OK.

Golly, I can do better than that! I just checked my pantry and found a can of pea soup that has an expiration date of Jan 2001.

Guess it is time to sell the kruegerands and buy stripped Thai 10 year bonds, eh?

Wayne, you are totally clueless, and by definition that means you can't figure *anything* out. However, from the tone of your posting it seems you are one of those big-grin people, so I suppose you are really not too much of a bother to have around. Keep sweeping son.

Gee, someone comes along and asks some questions and shares his experiences so far and everyone here JUMPS on him like he doesn't know what he's talking about??!!

Come on people, lets start showing facts, not opinions or speculations. If everyone here was serious about Y2K, there would be less people here spending their money on internet access and a lot more on supplies...

I made a reservation for dinner for my wife's birthday at very nice Italian Restaurant called Belle Notte.

I called 2 months in advance. "No problem"

We showed up that night and the sign was off the building and the windows were all soaped up.

Sign in the window said: "Closed For Remodeling"

BUT I HAD A RESERVATION!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

No Wayne yet I see. I forgot to mention that thanks to Ed, and Philip, you and I have a place to post our opinion, for the whole www to see, FOR FREE. I'll tell you why I started using this site. Thanks to the efforts of countless people here, we see the latest Y2K news first. I really do wonder how many of the other Y2K sites use this place for their source. I read it here today, tomorrow it's on Gary North, South, Sangers (thanks ps) and countless others. I also get a chance to rant (like now), argue, learn, get pissed off, and get pissed on. FOR FREE. <:)=

Wayne,

I'm sure you can buy tickets for the Rose Bowl too. But will it be January 1? I doubt it. Happy to take your money, though!

SysMan,

You hit it right on the head. Breaking news on this forum. That is exactly why I'm here. So many people here research so many dif things, I find myself checking out the threads before surfing to other haunts.

Wayne, If you want a conversation you shouldn't hit and run like that.
