Ahh..yes, ethereal!! What bothered me a little is, my eye did not rest on any part of the image. Maybe if there was a strong black silhouette among the numerous purplish hues, it might be a stronger image.

Very cool.

This would have been more effective without the dark tree in the lower right side, but a standard 8x10 criop will fix that. It would have been awesome if you could have shot it without the dark tree.

The tonal range seems compressed though. Does the original slide have a wider range of tones?

That4s the point in your photo ... you have no specific point to get your eyes on ... just like ethereal images ... terrific.

I think this is a wonderful photograph. It looks like an ancient Japanese watercolor.

Thanks a lot for your comments! The picture was taken about a month ago, from the Borobodur temple complex in central Java during sunrise. A similar picture with a view stupas in the foreground can be seen here.
