I like the black & yellow theme! But it needs cropping for simplification and emphases. I'd crop 2/3 of top dark area, about 1/3 of the space to the right of the deer, a nip off the bottom, and crop from the left to obtain desired frame proportions.

This is a good example of making a high contrast situation work for you. I think the forground shadows complement the deer very well. I might crop a bit more, but as is, it has good postential as a stock image with room for ad copy etc. The black upper right area bothers me some, but I see a bit of detail trying to peek out so I imagine the original has more detail there than the scanning could deal with.
