Beseler 67 Printmaker

Has anyone had any experience with this enlarger? I don't plan on doing anything larger than 6x7, it comes in a kit, I'm sure I'll need a better lense but at this kit price sounds pretty good to me, any comments would be appreciated. Thanks Dan

I recently sold my Printmaker 35 outfit. The only difference in the Printmaker 67 is the condenser size and the negative carrier and lens. I found the unit to be a very good starter system. in fact, I would probably still have it except I got a chance to purchase a 23C at a very good price. The Beslar lens is reasonably good and I got good quality 8"x10" prints, but once I bought a Schneider Componon S lens and compared the results it was obvious the the Beslar was outclassed. Bottom line, this unit is a good quality well constructed enlarger. With a good lens you will get very good results, but will be limited on print size using the baseboard. This was a minor consideration for 35mm, but many people make larger prints from 6x7 format.
