Um...if the real possibilty of a fire-fight exists (which is why we're stocking up on guns and ammo) then wouldn't body armor also be a good idea? I mean, if someone is shooting at you, wouldn't YOU rather be wearing armour than not?

Mylar coats are flame retardant to the extent that they don't burn. Unfortunately, they are similar to microwave type dinners - the contents cook. Best not to remain in burning buildings or get hit with napalm. Avoidance is the best game.
