Glitch??

I have used my Visa debit card for the past 4 or 5 years without a problem. I used it in March at Cracker Barrell restaurant & it was taken out of my account twice on the same day. When I took a printout of my checking account in,they did credit my account. A few days ago, when going over my statement I found another incident. Silk Tree Factory, a home decor store, debited my account twice for the same purchase. The first was April 3rd & again on April 20th. The manager apologized & credited my account. Today, I checked & found he credited it back twice. When I told the manager about the Cracker Barrell incident,he commented on how often it has been happening, & said they were on the same system as C.B. I don't know how it works, & it may not have anything to do with Y2K at all. I don't think I will be using it any more this year. Has anyone else experienced this??

From my 11 years' experience in writing and testing EFT (electronic funds transfer) software: Double debits or credits are unlikely to be Y2K-related. They are symptoms of common non-date-related errors that have been happening ever since ATM and POS networks were started in the 1980s.
